The Tupper Lake Public Library, AKA the Goff Nelson Memorial Library, is seeking a creative, dynamic, and inspiring leader. You will manage a dedicated staff, a $300k budget, and a collection of 40,000 items in a magnificent waterfront location.

Qualifications and Requirements

A Master’s Degree in Librarianship from a library school that is accredited by American Library Association or recognized by the New York State Education Department as following acceptable education practices and a minimum of two (2) years professional library experience

● Ability to train and supervise library staff and coordinate the work of others
● Knowledge of library organizations, budgets, procedures, policies, aims, and services
● Knowledge of the applications of computer technology to library operations

Compensation and Benefits

The Director works a flexible schedule that regularly encompasses regular daytime business hours but requires adjustment to accommodate meetings, community events and professional conferences.

The Library offers a competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes health and dental insurance, enrollment in the New York State retirement system, relocation stipend and paid time off.
