Executive Director

Lead the public library in a fast-growing community with the benefits of small town living and an easy connection to Washington DC, southern Pennsylvania, and the Baltimore metropolitan region. Carroll County Public Library, a Maryland library system that “connects our community with infinite possibilities.”

In the next 2-4 years, the Executive Director will play a vital leadership role as the Library:

• Plans and creates a new 35,000 SF branch to replace the existing Eldersburg Branch.
• Develops and implements a robust staff development plan to ensure that all staff have access to training, mentoring and coaching for the skills needed not only to complete their assigned tasks, but to enable them to be eligible for promotion and/or prepare them to assume leadership positions.
• Analyzes the Library’s organizational structure and staffing allocations; implements changes that will enhance effectiveness, efficiency and customer service.
• Conducts a comprehensive classification and compensation study.
• Develops a Facilities Master plan that creates and maintains library spaces in ways that make them locations for exploration, innovation, collaboration, education, recreation, and relaxation.
• Collaborates with the Friends of the Carroll County Public Library to increase their membership and visibility throughout the County.
