Library Director

The Board of Trustees of the Poestenkill Library seeks a creative, energetic, and
collaborative director to continue its commitment to library service and community
connection.

An association library for a population of fewer than 5,000, the Poestenkill Library is
both the geographic as well as the figurative center of town. Known for its vibrant and
award-winning programming, the Library attracts patrons from throughout the area for
its friendly staff, its picturesque facility, and its varied services.

With the support of an active Friends group and dedicated staff, this small-town library
is a magical place. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a director who enjoys
creative control and who wishes to have a lasting impact on an appreciative community.
Responsibilities for this position include management of all library services, supervision
and development of support staff and volunteers, development of library programming,
and budget preparation.

Qualifications:
● Minimum
o Two academic years of study
o Experience with community outreach

● Preferred
o Bachelor’s degree
o Experience with administration of a library

Employment Type/Salary:
● Part-time—30 hours/week
● Salary range: $30,000-$35,000
