This dynamic, customer-focused library system supports the over 600,000 residents of Anne Arundel County, Maryland through 16 branches, mobile services, 319 FTE staff and user-friendly digital platforms. AACPL’s mission is clear, “We build stronger communities,” and that happens in the charming cultural center of Annapolis, as well as its maritime, suburban, and rural areas.

• Creates and implements a robust staff development plan to ensure that all staff have access to the resources, training, mentoring, and coaching for the skills needed not only to complete their assigned tasks but to enable them to grow.
• Evaluates implementation of the Facilities Master Plan FY24-29 and the Strategic Plan 2026-2028 and revises them as needed.
• Explores opportunities for strategic collaboration with Anne Arundel Public Schools and other local educational institutions.
• Develops a new or improved organizational structure and service model that effectively aligns staffing with the library’s priorities and public demand.
• Champions a culture of intellectual freedom, reading, lifelong learning, and 21st century literacies.
