The Joint Automation Council of the Southern Adirondack Library System (SALS) and the Mohawk Valley Library System (MVLS) seeks a dynamic and strategic Manager to lead its Joint Automation (JA) Project. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape two library systems' technological landscape and drive innovation. You will lead a dedicated team in managing technology operations, projects, and systems, ensuring our patrons and staff have access to reliable, up-to-date, and user-friendly technology.
What You'll Do
Lead with Vision: Strategically plan, implement, and manage the entire technology infrastructure of the JA Project, from the Integrated Library System (ILS) to the network, hardware and software, ensuring seamless access and functionality for staff and patrons.
Build the Future: Stay current with emerging library technologies and trends, bringing fresh, creative ideas to enhance existing services as well as develop new services.
Empower Staff: Foster a work culture of continuous improvement and collaboration, providing leadership and support to the JA staff, JA Council, and member libraries.
Manage Resources Wisely: Oversee the technology budget, negotiate vendor contracts, and manage the full lifecycle of library hardware and software.
Collaborate for Success: Work effectively with SALS and MVLS directors, JA staff, the JA Council, member libraries, vendors, and the community to advance the JA Automation Project and the missions of both library systems.
Serve the Community: Use data and community feedback to tailor technology services to diverse community needs.
