Head of Reference and Programming Librarian
The Shelter Island Public Library is seeking an experienced Reference and Programming Librarian who is a personable, committed team player, enthusiastic about providing excellent library service.
Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be responsible for research and readers’ advisory at the reference desk; collection management and development; and all other reference tasks. The position requires management of all aspects of adult programming, including running programs, publicity and creation of promotional materials, interacting with presenters, preparing a monthly calendar of events and writing newsletter content. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for other reference and programming duties as necessary. We are seeking a candidate who is flexible and willing to pitch in to meet the various needs of the patrons and the library.
Qualifications: ALA accredited MLIS or equivalent. Starting salary is $53,000.
