The Board of Trustees of the David A. Howe Public Library in Wellsville, NY, is accepting applications for the position of Children’s Librarian. The library seeks an energetic, innovative and forward-thinking candidate with a vision for library services for children, ages 10 and under.
This full-time position will be 35 hours per week and will include some evenings and weekends. Annual wage of $33-35k with health insurance and optional enrollment into the New York State Retirement System.
The David A. Howe Public Library is the largest public library in Allegany County, and serves the beautiful Wellsville community area. It resides in the picturesque Appalachian Plateau. The Georgian Colonial style building, begun in 1935 and opened in 1937, is a landmark on Main Street, visited by over 100,000 people every year.
The heart of the library is in its Reading Rooms and Youth Wing. The library building also includes meeting rooms, a local history room, The Howe Gallery where art shows are held throughout the year, and The Nancy Howe Auditorium which seats 301 people.
